I'm a fractional CTO for small businesses that run on manual work: paperwork retyped by hand, spreadsheets passed around by email, software nobody in the building can reason about. I've worn titles from founding engineer to CTO, and I still write the code.
They need the work they already do to stop depending on someone retyping it. Fewer tools, not more. A system you own and can run without me.
The work: technical due diligence, architecture reviews, and AI where it pays. Mostly that means reading, extracting and structuring the documents your people now handle by hand. Where it doesn't pay, I'll say so before you spend the money.
My stack spans Java, Go, Python, TypeScript, cloud infra, data pipelines, distributed systems and LLM agents. These are power tools. You can build a house with cranes and bulldozers, or you can wreck a few.
Since March 2025 I've also been a co-founder of Voitta AI, which builds open-source agentic tooling at github.com/voitta-ai.
